Harper's Farm
Welcome to Harper's Farm. My name is John Parker. My family have farmed here in the quiet village of Ashleworth for over 60 years. Our 70 acres, former dairy farm, is part of the ELS/HLS stewardship scheme. We do not use any pesticides or fertilisers on our permanent pasture grassland. Harper's Farm is ideally placed for Hartpury college students (exactly two miles from door to door).Also in view of recent years flooding difficulties between the College and Gloucester, i must stress that the road between the properties at Harper's Farm and the College is never closed due to flooding. The Stonebarn and Bungalow accommodation have been inspected and HMO Licensed by the Local Authority Accommodation Officer and we were on the "Fit To Rent" list of approved accommodation before this was replaced by the HMO licensing.We also have the recently renovated Annexe on the same complex .
We have had Students groups here at Harper's Farm for nearly twenty years. We do our utmost to ensure our accommodation is of the highest standard for our students and we encourage prospective students and their parents to come and view the properties.We also have plentiful grazing for those of you who have horses.We have an excellent bus service from 300yds away at the Ashleworth Hub which has a well stocked Shop and Post Office , the Boat pub (CAMRA pub of the year on several occasions), Woodpeckers Sports and Social club (which has a bar, playing field and play area). Just over a mile down the road is the Ashleworth Ham Nature Reserve (famous for wildfowl), with specially constructed "hide". Also the saxon Church ,Tithe Barn and Manor are well worth looking at. Whether walking or cycling there are many footpaths and lanes to explore. We are an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds, the Malverns and the Forest of Dean.
